Jeri and Joe Reeder opened Shine of Chicago North in May 2021 as the first Shine franchise in Illinois. This wife and husband team combined their decades of corporate and nonprofit experience in business operations, sales, and marketing along with their desire to create something positive from the COVID-19 pandemic into this mission-focused venture.
“I’ve been asked why I wanted to start a window cleaning company, and my response is, ‘Because it’s so much more than just a window cleaning company,'” said Jeri, when asked about the opportunity to opening their own business. “First and foremost, we want to live out the Shine mission to ‘Be a Light.'”
“In the short amount of time we’ve been open, we already have many examples of ways we’ve positively impacted the lives of our team members, our clients, and the community,” continued Jeri. “We’ve been able to provide meaningful employment for our field crew. We’ve helped a son living overseas treat his homebound mother with a gift of clean windows. We’ve partnered with a neighborhood to provide holiday lights to a grieving family. These are the stories that fuel our excitement and reinforce why we got into this business.”
